Dear H.C,
The spring/summer trend of mixing orange and purple seems to be inspired by Donna Karan’s Spring 2012 Collection.  Also, watch out for off the shoulder pieces, print dresses and strapless numbers. Orange and purple are a lively combination. Orange and purple can have different connotations when paired in different ways. Purple and orange in an eclectic print gives off the feeling of a tribal, jungle, tropical aura, while big bold chunks of color present the appearance of colour blocking. Don’t be afraid of colour blocking. Celebrities such as Emma Stone have donned in the look in an appealing manner. Colour blocking if done right, can create a slimming effect, as your eye is drawn to the duality between the colours. A new way to incorporate this look into your wardrobe is to sport a colour blocking tunic and black liquid leggings with black bootie wedges. This will create a long clean line on one’s legs and the emphasis will placed upwards. Whether emulating Donna Karan, Emma Stone or a tribal goddess, this is a fresh take on spring fashion that I eagerly await.
